Hey folks, I know Kilgore is pretty far away, but everyone in MetroplexMINI who has been to one of the PDI events in the past has great things to say about it.  I thought I would post here in case anyone was interested. Right now they are looking interest for dates in October.

Any HMMSer who has a chance to sign up for this, MUST!!!
Besides a great drive up to Kilgore, it is the absolute best way to learn about your MINI and yourself! The facility is more "rustic" than the Houston PA; the instructors are great, the excersizes are challenging, and you will probably be outnumbered by an enthusiastic (small) group of friendly MM members!
The followup advanced course is to die for!
And remember: everything will buff out!

What is the nature of the PDI program. Living in Woodville TX I am a lot closer to Kilgore than probably most of you, so I am interested. Before retiring while in Atlanta GA, I was very involved in SCCA autocross events. The Atlanta MINI went together with several autocross schools with the local SCCA and held MINI aX events.

I have not been to the Kilgore PDI (practical driving instruction), but from what others have said it is a hoot. It is more like a car control school than autocross training. I imagine they do slalom, emergency braking, emergency lange change, skid pad, etc.
