How 'bout a drive?!  I was thinking of something for either MCOW or HMMS for, say, July 17.  Tentative route would be from The Woodlands to Brenham Airport for a burger & 'rings on their screened porch, with plenty of twisties to and fro.

If that's not a good date, anyone want to suggest another one?

Zippeee!'s an '07 R56 MCS, delivered in February, 2007–one of the first in the country! We now have over 59,000 miles together. Yikes! That's a lot for someone who works out of her home–must be a bunch of pure motoring.

Ronald, Sounds like it might be fun! I will let you know.

Deb, Yours might be fun too.

Somewhere in this same range of July dates, we were trying to organize a boat tour of the port, but there have been very few takers so far. I have to honor my commitment to that event first, if there is a group interested.

If it's too weird, I answer to Deb.  "Hey, you" works, too!

How about "daffodill"?

Hey, I'm not going to be able to make Ronald's Ice Cream drive this weekend, so I am definitely game for a drive on the 17th.  (I also think the boat tour is cooked until fall based on responses so far.)

Okay, by vote of the members present at the Black Lab, we'll have a drive departing from ___ on August 7, leaving right after the meeting.  Give me a few days to figure out what to put in the blank!

(I'm always open to suggestions…)

Good news, gang–3090 is B-A-C-K!  We drove the full length last weekend, and there's no dust anywhere.  I was afraid they were going to iron out all the curves with the roadwork, but there was nothing but purty new pavement for a long stretch–not all of it, but many miles.  We didn't even run into traffic except for a couple of motorcycles in the first 2 miles, and a pickup at the last 2 miles, with about 13 miles of twisted bliss in between!

If there is not there needs to be…Smile

Its seems like most of the stuff happens on days when us normal people have to work…Like the Saturday Meeting…I would think more would show up if it was on a Sunday…

Welcome Patrick!  Yes indeed, we have drives in Houston!  Well, not really IN Houston, 'cause it's not nearly as much fun dodging the SUVs on Westheimer as it is running the twisties out of town, but you get the idea.  We will have one on the 7th, after the meeting.  Details will be posted as I know them (and I design the route), but right now it looks like the August meeting will be held at the Katz's Deli in The Woodlands, on I-45 north.

Are you new to Houston, new to MINIs, or both?

Gmodder, we do have Sunday drives some times, but decided to tag it along after a meeting to make it easier for people to get together.  You just have to tell your boss you are MINI sick, and need a little time off…
