I have gone to this event before and it is a blast. It would be cool if we could go as a club.
The 22nd Texas All British Car Days is Just Around the Corner!
The 22th annual Texas All British Car Day is just around the corner. We had almost 200 fine British automobiles of all sorts last year and we're expecting even more this year to help us celebrate the 22th anniversary of the largest all-British car show in central Texas.
If you have a British car, I encourage you to join us. We will have a fun rallye on Saturday afternoon where you can join dozens of little British cars as we cruise all around the countryside. We will culminate the rallye with a fine dinner at a private ranch in Round Rock. This year we have a special treat at dinner… live entertainment! We will have an acoustic bluegrass band providing background music for you to relax to after an afternoon of rallying and a nice dinner with friends.
Sunday brings the Show and Shine car show with celebrity judges including News8 Chief Meteorologist Burton Fitzsimmons.
If you can't make the rallye on Saturday, please consider joining us for the show on Sunday. We don't often get the chance to get together with so many people interested in British cars and you're sure to enjoy it.
If you don't have a British car but want to have a great time in the pleasant setting of Old Settler's Park looking at and discussing some fine British cars, please join us! It's free to the public and open to anyone interested in these classics.
Online registration and a downloadable registration form will be available shortly. The cost is the same as last year. If you do the rallye on Saturday and the show on Sunday or just do the the show on Sunday the cost is the same so why not join us on Saturday and make a weekend of it!
The host hotel is again:
Springhill Suites
2960 Hoppe Road
Round Rock, TX
512-733-6700
Click http://txabcd.org/ to go to our home page where you can get a link to make reservations at the discounted rate. The discounted rate is only available for a limited time and the number of discounted rooms is limited.
See you in September!

Registration is now open for this event. They are looking for Clubs that are willing to put on their own club display also. I think it would be really cool if we could get a few cars to go to this event. I will be their this year. If you haven't gone it is great fun. It is a blast to hang out with so many car people and see the many unique cars that attend the show. If people are interested I would like to caravan to Round Rock Friday night. Don't forget to check out the website for registration and hotel information.

Hey All:
I'd be up for a day trip to Round Rock, probably on Sunday.
Ellen and I use to have a '63 MGB.

Checked my calendar, and unfortunately this is the same weekend as the Houston BMWCCA Teen Street Survival school and autocross. My daughter is taking the school. I'm helping out with the school, plus I do autocross.

Ken and I are IN! I just made reservations, but we're staying at La Quinta, which is about 1/2 mile south of the event hotel. It's much cheaper, and doesn't charge for dogs. If you want to stay here, it's:
La Quinta Inn & Suites
Austin Round Rock North
2004 North I-35
Round Rock, TX 78681
1-512-255-6666
We get three rate breaks (frequent "flyer" club), AARP, and the one anyone can get–type the special code VHEB in the little box. Price for 1 king or 2 queen beds is $63 with all 3 discounts. Plus, we don't have to board Toby.
We're going Friday morning, and coming back Sunday. That gives us some time to kick around Austin and Round Rock, too, but probably means we won't be caravanning. We'll be driving the MINI, but not showing.
Ken had a Healey back in the 60s, and I think he's always had a soft spot for them.

Zippeee!'s an '07 R56 MCS, delivered in February, 2007–one of the first in the country! We now have over 89,000 miles together. Yikes! That's a lot for someone who works out of her home–must be a bunch of pure motoring.

Nikki and I are booked at the host hotel and will be going up on Friday as well. However, we won't be able to leave till Friday evening as I don't get off of work until 4 or 5 (depending on when I get in to the office).

All,
If you are planning on comming up to the show on Sunday. Please try to be there at 9 am. If you haven't preregistered the cost is 25 the day of the show. Also if you have a MINI show it. Lot os people show their cars at this event with no intent on winning anything. They are just proud of what they own. If you are going up Friday afternoon please let me know if you would like to Caravan. Cameron, you and I can work out the details on this.

Just a heads-up–the car show is ONLY ON SUNDAY. Saturday will be for drivers only, and there is no show. Sunday is free if you are just wanting to eyeball the cars, and aren't entering anything.

Latest news from the Texas All British Car Days
September 29 and 30, 2012
Public Car Show
The car show is open to the public and free to wonder through and see all the classic British cars. The best time to see the cars is between 9AM and 2PM. Come visit with us this Sunday, the 30th at Old Settlers Park, behind the Dell Diamond on Highway 79.
Rain Plans
We have alternative sites for the Saturday night dinner and the Sunday car show so if the rain forces us, we can still have a great time.
Status Phone Number
We have a new phone number you can call to get a recorded message with the latest status. We will change the message if there are any changes in schedule or venue because of rain or anything else. Keep this number handy: 512-660-7495.

Well, weekend weather isn't looking too good for the other things we wanted to do in Austin. We've canceled our reservations, but have kept options open for a quick run on Sunday.

For those not on Facebook, my pictures can be found here. I only have a few up currently, but I'll be posting more as I get them processed over the next few days.
