It’s located right off Hwy 190 in Onalaska, which is 12 miles west of Livingston. We recommend coming up Hwy 59 to Livingston, then heading toward Hooker’s, as Onalaska is much closer to Livingston than it is to Huntsville (I-45).

As a side note, a music festival, “Eagle Fest,” is slated for the same weekend if anyone wants to stay around for the music, etc. We can also plan a drive around the lake and pine woods, as Gretchen suggested.

we’d meet in the parking lot @ 10, go inside ~10:30, order, etc. They have an area they’ll set up for us (overlooks the lake). Told them we’d leave by noon, when the music fest gates will open.

The Austin MINI Cooper Car Club is hosting a Texas MINI gathering at Ceres Park Ranch in Austin on Saturday, May 11th. Some of you may remember we made this trip a couple of years ago. This location also has the Jester King Brewery.

Soon we’ll plan a caravan drive for our group from Houston to this event in Austin.

Paul Kwan has graciously offered his driveway and garage for a wash and tech day on Saturday, April 27th. He is allowing us to use his four post lift if you need to get under your car. If yuo want to do light maintenance on your car, we will be there to help.

We had a lot of fun last year doing this.

Saturday April 20th is the next state-wide beach cleanup. HMMS is the “beach guardian” for a 1/2 mile stretch of Galveston Island State Park. It is a very pretty beach and we always have fun strollling the beach, doing a light clean-up. We’ll meet at the beach at 9:00 am, clean the beach for a couple of hours, and then go somewhere nearby for lunch.

You don’t have to bring anything, except if you have a favorite pair of work gloves! The Texas General Land Office provides us with trash bags and latex gloves.

Galveston Island State Park is on FM 3005 (Seawall Blvd) about 9 miles west of 61st Street on Galveston Island.

Come to the May HMMS meeting at Varsity Grill in Waller, TX. They are opening up just for us! We’ll likely have the whole place to ourselves. This month the election results will be announced, and the traditional transfer of the club banner will be made to the new President!

Since the roads are so good in this area, Bob Swank is putting together a short drive for after lunch for those interested!

The April HMMS meeting will be held at Momentum MINI, in the Hodge Podge Cafe, behind the showroom. Please park on the driveway leading up to the MINI showroom, between the BMW and Jaguar lots. Park close to the curb so that other cars can pass.

After searching through some old records we have found the official start date of Houston MINI Motoring Society. March 25th 2003. We would like to celebrate a Decade of MINI Motoring in the lone star state and Houston Area. We would like to put on a party to celebrate a decade of motoring this great state and HMMS’s Birthday! March 25th 2013.

Since the 25th is a Monday. We have decided to Celebrate on March 30th 2013
